TONY DANZA on TONY DANZA

last night i watched Lost Paradise. eewww... seriously. extremely effective for how fake everything looks, but gross nevertheless. it goes on FOREVER. seriously. the first 40mins or so is another scene not connected to Masami Akita, and it's simply too boring to get overly grossed out by. Lost Paradise (about 20-30mins) is filled with wonderful Merzbow score (but much more delicate than his usual work) and subtle direction with unnerving slow twitching camera movements for its very long takes. i do not recommend searching this movie out other than for research purposes. there is no entertainment value whatsover. i have a crappy quality VHS and i scanned almost the entire movie and i don't feel like i missed anything except the music, which i already have on Music For Bondage Performance vol. 1 & 2.

today i watched:

the end of Good Morning (Ohayo) - fart jokes in a japanese movie from '59, it's as good as it sounds.

Just Like Heaven - too damn cute. i love romantic comedys. nevermind, i just wanna make out with Reese Witherspoon.

Flightplan - pretty much Panic Room at 50,000 feet. which means it's awesome. i heard bored responses, and it was basically a mixture of Turbulence, Air Force One and Panic Room, but who cares. it was a good thriller.

i just saw Harry Potter 4 for free at Page Manor! i was really happy with it. smashing one of the longest kids novels ever into a mere 157mins had to be hard. i love the books and the movies have been progressively been getting better.

i do get really pissed off to see parents bringing their 5year olds to see it though. i didn't see my first PG-13 movie until i was 12 (Dumb & Dumber w/ my dad. it was awkward). Harry Potter was rated PG-13 for a reason. any kid who isn't old enough to READ shouldn't see the movies.

i just got back from visiting my mom at the hospital. everything went well, and as far as we know she's going to recover just fine.

but my favorite, perverted tia (aunt) Kim has lung cancer. my cousins are going through hell. my mom knew Kim before she even knew my dad. they were roommates then met the Barajas boys Daniel and Enrique and both married one.

-i rented a really cool book for my Masami Akita research. as an added bonus it's got a pretty good section on Bjork.
-watched Dead Man today in Jarmusch class. Iggy Pop cracks me up.
-watched an episode of Malcom In The Middle today in the hospital. i love that show, i just never watch it.
-probably gonna read a bunch tonight, do some religion homework and watch Sky Captain and/or Flightplan.

i need to start a dream diary.

lately i've been in a desert of shit. a 'funk' if you will. but for the last few months i can only remember having dreams filled with fear, anger, violence, hate, dispair, etc... i dreamed my brother died (then i rampaged after his killer to cut off his head), i dreamed that my father did something that made our relationship unreconcileable... and i also have a hard time remembering my dreams, so the rest just weigh in my shoulders and in my jaw without my knowing.

today i woke up feeling the most rested i have in a long time. i woke up in my usual daze, still stuck inbetween consciousness and fantasy. i knew i needed to write it down, but it was so funny and hope-filling that i 'knew' i couldn't forget it.

*sigh*

there are worse things, but there are better things.

i have bad news and i'm not allowed to tell
my mother is going through surgery today
and that is not the tragedy
saint valentine doesnt even exist, and no one believed in cupid anyway
my stomach is always empty yet my belly swells on
